The hard work and dedication of our Democratic-endorsed local candidates paid off in three Williamson County city elections.

In Round Rock, incumbent Hilda Montgomery held on to Place 6 with an overwhelming victory.

On the west side of the County, challenger Andrew Naudin won Leander Place 5 and in Cedar Park, Alexis Frezza won Place 1. These victories were critical in keeping the good work of those city councils moving forward.

While she did not come out on top, we want to congratulate Natomi Blair for her work and sacrifice in her Leander race. We know we will see more of her going forward.

These candidates ran great races and shared great messages, and the work of Democrat volunteers across the county to amplify and spread those messages proved to be powerful in our communities.

All Across Texas

The success of Democrats in unseating and defeating regressive candidates in city and school board races wasn’t limited to Central Texas, as across the state other Democrats stood up and made a statement of their own.

Conservative school board candidates who have pushed right-wing agendas lost their bid for reelection in Katy ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Humble ISD – all in the Houston area – and Mansfield ISD, Grapevine-Colleville ISD, and Keller ISD in the Metroplex, all lost. What’s more is they were all candidates supported by a number of conservative political action committees that have poured big money into trying to take over our school districts.

Our Democratic message is a better message, our goals and plans are inclusive, responsible, and forward-thinking. Those could not be drowned out by big-dollar fear and anger.

No Time to Rest

As the dust settles on this election, we are only six months from November and a potential Constitutional amendment election, and only 10 months from the March 2026 primary.

This is no time to lose momentum. We must keep the message in the conversation and remind our fellow Texans there is an alternative to the leadership and representation they grow more unhappy with every day.

Help encourage candidates, continue to walk your neighborhoods, volunteer, and stay involved and connected because the next win for Democrats in Williamson County is just around the corner.
