Dear Williamson County Democrats,
Unfortunately, Congressman Keith Ellison has notified us that schedule issues will not allow him to address our Awards Dinner on September 21. As you know Congress is returning to the Capitol in the next few days to face a very busy and challenging agenda.
As you will hear in Congressman Ellison's attached video, the congressman is looking forward to a future opportunity at a later date to be with us. We appreciate the congressman's kind remarks in the video. We look forward to an even more exciting event with him as soon as schedules will allow, and we wish him and other Democratic members the best as they ensure that the people's voice is heard in the debates that are imminent.

Because of the late notice of this announcement, and because we know everyone is dealing with so much in their personal lives - helping friends, family, and fellow Texans in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, we are not going to rush a replacement speaker for the dinner. Instead, we are going to work hard to put together an A-Plus awards dinner at a later date. We will release the information about the rescheduled date as soon as possible. For those who have already purchased a ticket for September 21 and find you have a conflict for the future date, we will honor your request for a refund.
We certainly apologize for any inconvenience that rescheduling may cause and look forward to a stellar Awards Dinner on the new date.
In the meantime, we are in the works to have a Hurricane Harvey relief drive and fundraiser on September 21. So please, if possible, keep that date clear, more information to come.
